Lowell earned a 57-28 victory over Illiana Christian in a neutral-site postseason matchup.
The game was played Feb. 3 as part of the IHSAA girls basketball postseason, with Lowell facing Illiana Christian in sectional action.
Lowell set the tone early and controlled the game on both ends of the floor, building separation as the contest progressed. The Red Devils consistently generated quality looks offensively while applying steady defensive pressure to limit Illiana Christian’s scoring chances. Lowell maintained its intensity through all four quarters, turning defensive stops into scoring opportunities and pulling away to secure the decisive win.
Brooke Dawson led the Red Devils with 23 points, providing consistent scoring throughout the game and anchoring the offensive effort. Josephine Laub added eight points and contributed defensively, while Gatlin Hanrath chipped in 11 points to support the balanced attack. Tatum Claus and Cass Hejnowski also contributed on the scoreboard as Lowell continued to move the ball effectively and capitalize on open looks.
Defensively, Lowell limited Illiana Christian to 28 points, holding the Vikings in check with active hands, strong rebounding, and disciplined positioning throughout the night.
Lowell’s season came to a close Feb. 6 with a 43-40 loss to Kankakee Valley, but the sectional win over Illiana Christian marked a strong postseason performance for the Red Devils.
