Ty Fredericksen and Roan Vasko helped lead Lowell’s senior group as the Red Devils battled unbeaten Kouts before falling 53-34 in a nonconference matchup.
The game was played Feb. 21 at Lowell High School in Lowell, Indiana, as the Red Devils hosted the Mustangs & Fillies in late-season action.
Lowell competed early against one of the area’s top teams, working to keep pace through the opening half before Kouts created separation behind consistent scoring and defensive pressure. The Red Devils continued to battle throughout the second half, relying on senior leadership and interior effort to generate opportunities against an undefeated opponent. Fredericksen, Vasko, Brayden Spearson and Cass Hejnowski helped anchor Lowell’s effort, while fellow senior Gavin Gudgel added support in the frontcourt. Junior contributors Bradley Cox, Ezra Rumisek and Donovan Pace also played key roles, helping maintain defensive intensity and rebounding presence against a physical matchup.
Despite the loss, Lowell continued to gain experience against strong competition as the regular season moved toward its final stretch.
The Red Devils returned to action Feb. 24 when they hosted Rensselaer Central in nonconference play, continuing preparations ahead of postseason tournament competition.
