Lowell delivered a strong all-around performance at the Ed Woodrick Invitational, highlighted by top finishes in both the 800-meter run and 110-meter hurdles.
The meet took place April 11 at Munster High School, where Lowell competed against a deep field of regional programs in a competitive invitational setting.
Danny Frevert turned in one of the top performances of the day, finishing second in the 800 meters with a time of 1:57.48, matching the winning mark in a tightly contested race. The senior closed effectively down the stretch to secure a season-best effort and keep Lowell in contention. Teammate Will Kala added a sixth-place finish in 2:08.24, showing steady pacing and consistency from start to finish. In the 110-meter hurdles, Brody Kalwinski placed second with a time of 15.74, delivering a strong run and adding another high finish for Lowell.
Lowell also competed in the 4×800 relay, where Ashton Colson, Riley Hirjak, Phoenix Voukidis, and Kala combined to place fourth in 9:20.00, recording a personal-best time as a unit against a competitive field. The relay group showed strong coordination and endurance throughout the race.
Lowell continues its season schedule with upcoming meets as the Red Devils build momentum across multiple events and look to carry this success forward.
