Lowell High School’s football team is set to face East Chicago Central on Friday night, with a sectional championship berth at stake. The matchup will see Lowell entering with an 8-2 record, aiming to continue their strong postseason performance.
The game is scheduled for October 31 at East Chicago Central High School in East Chicago, Indiana, with kickoff at 7 p.m.
Lowell has relied on a balanced offense and a defense that consistently limits opponents. They have averaged more than 30 points per game while holding opposing teams below 20. The Red Devils enter the semifinal following a commanding first-round win that showcased their ability to strike explosively and sustain long possessions. They aim to control field position, force long-yardage situations defensively, and maintain discipline against a Cardinals offense capable of producing significant gains on the ground.
The winner of Friday’s game will advance to the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) Class 4A sectional championship next week. The opponent and host site will be determined by tournament seeding.
This game marks the first meeting between Lowell and East Chicago Central this season.
