Lowell Red Devils fell to Highland Trojans 56-55 in a home conference girls’ basketball game.
According to the report, Lowell battled to the final buzzer but suffered a narrow 56 to 55 home conference loss to Highland on Tuesday. The Red Devils stayed within reach throughout, trailing 18 to 13 after the first quarter before taking a 27 to 31 deficit into halftime. Lowell responded with a strong third quarter, outscoring Highland 16 to 12 to pull ahead briefly, but Highland edged the final period 13 to 12 to secure the win. Gatlin Hanrath led Lowell with 14 points, while Aubrey Fleming added 11 points and steady play as the Red Devils showed resilience and effort in the one-point loss.
The Lowell Red Devils will face Illiana Christian on January 20 at 7 p.m.
Lowell rolled past Highland 56–32 on Jan. 7, controlling the game from the opening quarter and never letting the Trojans back into it.
