Lowell boys wrestling earned a second-place team finish at the IHSAA Boys Wrestling Sectional, scoring 253.5 points.
The sectional tournament took place Jan. 31 at Crown Point High School, where Lowell advanced wrestlers deep into the bracket across nearly every weight class.
The Red Devils remained in the team title race throughout the day and secured second place with consistent scoring in both championship and consolation rounds. Lowell crowned two sectional champions, with Evan Stanley winning the title at 138 pounds and Kameron Hazelett capturing first place at 285. Both wrestlers delivered dominant performances to anchor Lowell’s scoring output. The Red Devils also recorded multiple runner-up finishes, as Gavin Longoria (106), Tyler Quarles (113), Noel Verduzco (126), Hunter Mallory (132), Charles Shaffer (157), Bradley Rivera (165), and Cayden Yuran (190) each placed second in their respective brackets.
Additional points came from Dalton Robson, who finished third at 144, Logan Schwarzkopf with a third-place finish at 150, and Tymothy James, who placed third at 175. Anthony Ruiz added a fourth-place finish at 215 to round out the scoring.
