Lowell girls’ basketball suffered a 76–56 defeat in a home non-conference game against Hammond Morton.
The game took place on December 18 at Lowell High School in Lowell, Indiana. According to the match report, Lowell started strong with an 18–13 lead in the first quarter. However, Hammond Morton responded with a dominant 20–4 second quarter, taking control by halftime. The Governors maintained their momentum in the second half, outscoring Lowell 22–19 in the third quarter and 21–15 in the fourth. Despite Lowell’s offensive efforts, they could not slow down Hammond Morton’s consistent scoring.
Josephine Laub led Lowell with 13 points while shooting efficiently from the field. Brooke Dawson added 15 points to pace the Red Devils offensively. Alivia Madison contributed 12 points, and Gatlin Hanrath scored 10 points while adding defensive pressure. The team recorded a total of 17 rebounds and 13 assists, spreading production across the lineup despite Hammond Morton’s sustained offensive runs.
Lowell is set to return to action on January 10 when they travel to Andrean for a matchup scheduled at 2:30 p.m. The two teams last faced each other on January 11 at Lowell, where Hammond Morton secured a victory with a score of 49–32.
