Lowell demonstrated its depth and scoring balance in a decisive 10-0 victory over Merrillville in a non-conference girls’ soccer match.
The game was played on Saturday, September 27, at Merrillville High School. The Red Devils set the tone with an explosive first half, scoring eight times before the break. They added two more goals in the second half to complete the shutout. Ten different players scored for Lowell, highlighting the program’s offensive variety. Junior M. Nestorovski, freshman Emma Hamilton, junior Ashley Mecha, senior Kaelen Lulinski, senior Brooke Miller, sophomore Macy Grskovich, junior Haleigh Oman, freshman Lilly Oman, freshman Camille Joppek, and freshman Lila Bisacchi all contributed goals. Assists came from Miller, Mecha, Hamilton, and sophomore K. Wilczewski, who also made three saves as goalkeeper.
Merrillville created opportunities and managed four shots on target; however, Lowell’s defense and goalkeeping efforts preserved the clean sheet. The Pirates maintained effort and determination throughout the match despite the scoreline.
