Lowell girls rout La Porte, 53–24

Lowell girls basketball earned a 53–24 non-conference home victory over La Porte.

The game was played Jan. 24 at Lowell High School, where the Red Devils jumped out to a commanding first-quarter lead and never looked back.

Lowell opened the game with a 25–5 first quarter and carried a 41–11 advantage into halftime, setting the tone with aggressive defense, rebounding and balanced scoring. Juniors Brooke Dawson and Gatlin Hanrath each scored 10 points, with Dawson adding five assists and three steals and Hanrath pulling down nine rebounds. 

Sophomore Ella Labas finished with 12 points on efficient shooting, while junior Josephine Laub added six points, four rebounds and five assists. Senior Hayden Blocker and senior Aubrey Fleming helped control the paint and the glass, and sophomores Alivia Madison and K. Wilczewski provided steady minutes as Lowell limited La Porte to single-digit scoring in every quarter.

Another complete performance on both ends of the floor marked another convincing win for the Lowell Red Devils.
