Lowell Girls Wrestling Opens With Road Win

0Comments

The Lowell girls’ wrestling team commenced its 2025–26 season with a 42–30 victory over Michigan City on Thursday, November 6, in Michigan City, Indiana.

According to the team’s performance, Lowell established early momentum through multiple pins and key point wins across the lower and middle weight classes. This set the tone for a confident start to the season. The Red Devils maintained control throughout the dual, demonstrating offseason preparation and balanced roster depth in their first competition of the year.

The lineup included returning experienced wrestlers alongside several new athletes competing in their first varsity matches. The coaching staff emphasized aggressive setups and improved transition work from top positions—both of which were evident throughout the night. The win also marked a promising step for a program continuing to expand opportunities for female wrestlers within the region.

Lowell is scheduled to host Griffith Senior High School on Monday, November 24, at 6:00 p.m. inside Lowell Senior High School.
