The Lowell Red Devils are preparing to commence their postseason journey on Friday night, hosting Hanover Central in a Class 4A state tournament matchup.
According to the schedule, the game is set for October 24 at 7:00 p.m. at Lowell High School. This marks the Red Devils’ return to the field following a successful regular season, where they achieved a 7–2 overall record and went 5–1 in conference play.
Led by quarterback Brody Kalwinski, Lowell has demonstrated consistent offensive balance throughout the year, averaging over 230 rushing yards per game. Running back Tymothy James has been instrumental in this performance, averaging 136 yards per game and leading the team in scoring. Wide receiver Zak Scharnke and kicker Dylan Bisacchi have also contributed steadily to an offense that averages 32 points per game.
Defensively, Lowell has restricted opponents to just 149 total points this season. This effort is highlighted by strong tackling from linebacker Lincoln Schneider and steady play up front from Kameron Hazelett.
Lowell previously defeated Hanover Central with a score of 35–20 earlier this season and aims to replicate that success as they vie for advancement to the second round.
The winner of this matchup will progress to the Class 4A state tournament’s second round on October 31.
