The Lowell High School Red Devils girls’ basketball team faced a challenging match against Kankakee Valley High School, resulting in a 54–43 defeat on December 5.
According to the game details, Lowell began to gain momentum after halftime, scoring 16 points in the third quarter to reduce their deficit following a slow start. Senior Hayden Blocker led the team’s scoring efforts with effective finishing inside. Junior Brooke Dawson contributed by attacking the lane and performing well at the free-throw line. Gatlin Hanrath was instrumental in maintaining possession through rebounds, while senior Aubrey Fleming provided crucial minutes in the frontcourt. Freshman Erin Hayden made her presence felt with a perfect shooting record during her time on the court.
Despite these efforts and an improved offensive rhythm in the final two quarters, Kankakee Valley’s early advantage proved insurmountable for Lowell in this conference matchup.
