The Lowell boys’ tennis team concluded their season on Thursday night with a 4–1 loss to Culver Military Academy in the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) Regional Finals. The match took place at Crown Point High School, where Lowell faced one of the state’s top teams.

Culver Military demonstrated its depth by securing victories in four out of five positions. However, Lowell’s top singles player, Owen Thomas, achieved a notable comeback victory at No. 1 singles. He rallied after losing the first set to win 2–6, 6–3, 6–2 and advance individually to the next round of state competition.

According to reports, the Red Devils put up a strong fight in doubles play. The duo of Dylan Bisacchi and Hudson Van Deursen kept their first set close before ultimately falling 6–4, 6–1. At No. 2 doubles, Ethan McManus and Grayson Bilhorn also battled but were defeated 6–2, 6–1. In singles competition, Canon Shuler and Emmitt Mitsch faced experienced opponents from Culver at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots, both putting forth commendable efforts despite straight-set losses.

Lowell concludes its season as Regional Finalists, marking another successful campaign for the program. Thomas will represent the Red Devils in the next stage of the IHSAA state tournament on Saturday at Crown Point.
