Lowell commenced its boys’ wrestling season with a decisive victory, defeating Kankakee Valley 72-5 in a conference dual to start the 2025-26 campaign. The event took place on Monday, November 24, at Lowell High School.
According to the results from the competition, the Red Devils dominated both varsity and junior varsity (JV) matches. The JV team secured a 23-16 win with contributions from Bryce Marsh, Aiden Perez, and Anthony Ruiz.
In varsity action, Lowell delivered a series of strong performances. Hunter Mallory, Evan Stanley, Dalton Robson, Julius Villarreal, Charlie Shaffer, and Bradley Rivera each claimed victories early on. The team’s momentum was sustained by wins from Cayden Yuran, Timothy James, Lincoln Schneider, Kameron Hazlett, Gavin Longoria, Tyler Quarles, and Logan Schwarzkopf. Their success was attributed to effective work in neutral positions and consistent pressure on the mat throughout the dual.
Looking ahead, Lowell is set to participate in tournament action as they aim to build depth and improve conditioning during a busy December schedule. The Red Devils will next compete at Calumet New Tech High School for the Chris Traicoff Memorial Invitational on Saturday, December 13, at 9:00 a.m. CST.
