The offseason has given Lowell football a chance to reset under new head coach Casey McKim. With a fast-paced training program, scrimmages against area powers and bonding moments at team camp, the Red Devils feel prepared for the season ahead.
“It’s been great,” McKim said. “We were able to practice late at night under the lights, compete at team camp at Manchester, and scrimmage physical teams like Valpo and Chesterton. Those moments really shape who we are.”
Players echoed the impact of the changes. “Practices are quicker and more intense,” said senior Lincoln Schneider. “We’ve had more scrimmages and camps than ever. It gives us confidence.”
Senior Brody Kolwinski said the staff has built strong relationships. “It’s a bond I haven’t felt in a while,” Kolwinski said. “The coaches listen to us, and we listen to them. It’s exactly what we needed.”
For McKim, the offseason has reinforced his central message. “The goal is to be the best team possible at the end of the year,” he said. “Every rep and every practice is a step toward that.”
