Lowell Red Devils knocked off River Forest 45–32 in a neutral-site IHSAA Class 3A Sectional 18 boys basketball playoff game.
The matchup was played on Friday, March 6 at Hanover Central High School.
Lowell High School showcased a disciplined and efficient performance built on sharp shooting and control of the glass. The Red Devils connected on 46 percent of their field goals and an impressive 57 percent from beyond the arc, punishing River Forest whenever defensive rotations lagged. Their free-throw shooting was equally steady at 67 percent, ensuring they capitalized on trips to the line, according to Hudl.
On the boards, the Red Devils pulled down 23 rebounds, creating second-chance opportunities and limiting the Ingots to just 15. Ball movement was steady, with six assists helping spread the scoring load, while four steals and a block added defensive bite. Even though River Forest managed six steals of their own, Lowell’s efficiency and rebounding edge kept them firmly in control.
The combination of perimeter accuracy, balanced passing, and toughness inside highlighted a team identity that thrives on execution. Those strengths underscored Lowell’s ability to dictate tempo and maintain composure in a playoff setting, a performance that reflected their poise and preparation.
