Lowell’s track and field team delivered several standout performances, including event victories and top finishes, at the Indian Open indoor meet against a large regional field.
The meet was held March 7, 2026, at Portage Indoor in Portage, Indiana, on a 200-meter flat track featuring teams from across Northwest Indiana.
Lowell earned its strongest results in distance and field events. The 4×800 relay team of Daniel Frevert, Zakary Hudak, William Kala, and Jose Vazquez captured first place with a time of 8:33.57, marking the top finish of the day for the Red Devils. Levi Shuler also secured an individual victory in the high jump, clearing 5 feet, 8 inches, while Brody Kalwinski placed second in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.57 seconds.
In sprint events, Tymothy James led Lowell in the 60 meters with a 7.42 finish, and the 4×200 relay team placed eighth overall in 1:37.43. Lowell also showed depth in distance running, with Carter Wulitich finishing 18th in the 3200 meters at 11:16.55.
The Red Devils will look to build on these strong early-season results as the indoor season continues and athletes prepare for upcoming outdoor competition.
