Lowell battled throughout but came up short in a 5-0 conference softball loss to Hanover Central, showing effort despite being held off the scoreboard.
The game took place April 16 at Lowell High School, where the Red Devils stayed competitive early and continued to fight across all seven innings.
Lowell kept the game within reach in the opening frames before Hanover Central broke through with two runs in the second inning and added another in the third. The Wildcats extended the lead with two more runs in the fifth, but the Red Devils continued to compete and look for opportunities to respond. Lowell finished with three hits and worked to put runners on base, but could not find the timely hit needed to shift momentum.
Riley Miller and Leah White provided key contributions at the plate. Miller went 1-for-3 with a double, giving Lowell a strong scoring chance, while White finished 1-for-2 and reached base twice to help sustain offensive pressure. Both players helped set the tone with competitive at-bats throughout the game.
Defensively, Lowell showed stretches of solid play and worked through key moments, though two errors contributed to Hanover Central’s scoring chances. The Red Devils continued to battle until the final out, showing resilience and effort despite the final result.
