Rivalry games mean more at Lowell, and senior Brody Kolwinski said those are the weeks he looks forward to most.
“Every week playing a rival is exciting,” Kolwinski said. “Both teams want to win the conference and chase championships. That’s where we have the most fun.”
Head coach Casey McKim said rivalries bring urgency. “Every week in this conference is tough,” he said. “That type of competition builds toughness and prepares you for the postseason.”
Senior Lincoln Schneider said rivalries also fuel team identity. “We know how much these games mean to the community,” he said. “It pushes us to raise our level.”
McKim added that tradition amplifies those matchups. “Lowell has one of the most successful football traditions in northern Indiana,” he said. “That history makes rivalries even more meaningful.”
Kolwinski said the focus never changes. “It’s about playing for your teammates,” he said. “That’s what makes the rivalries special.”
