Senior Lincoln Schneider carries more than just a jersey number onto the field for Lowell. For him, playing football is also about living up to his older brother’s example.
“He was one of the hardest workers I know,” Schneider said. “I’ve always looked up to him for that.”
While his brother led quietly, Schneider said his own style is more vocal. “He was more reserved. I’m always yelling, trying to get teammates up and bring the energy,” he said.
That energy, Schneider added, connects with his role as a leader. “The defensive guys look down to me, and I need to be a model for them,” he said.
McKim said players like Schneider drive the team’s growth. “These kids are willing to do whatever is necessary,” McKim said. “That willingness to lead and to push others makes us stronger.”
Schneider said the program’s tradition inspires him. “It’s about staying together and fighting for one more week,” he said. “That’s what makes high school football special.”
