Lowell Boys Wrestling delivered a strong performance at the IHSAA Boys Semi-State at East Chicago Central, totaling 147 team points with multiple podium finishes.
The semi-state was held Feb. 14 at East Chicago Central High School.
Evan Stanley captured the 138-pound title, scoring 29 team points in a championship run through a competitive bracket. Kameron Hazelett also earned a first-place finish at 285 pounds, adding 27.5 points for the Red Devils. Lowell added three runner-up finishes, as Gavin Longoria placed second at 106 pounds with 23 points, Noel Verduzco took second at 126 with 22 points, and Cayden Yuran finished second at 190 with 22 points.
Tyler Quarles secured fourth place at 113 pounds, contributing 11 points, while Hunter Mallory placed fourth at 132 pounds with 12.5 points. Logan Schwarzkopf (150), Charles Shaffer (157) and Tymothy James (175) also competed for Lowell at semi-state.
The collective effort highlighted Lowell’s depth across multiple weight classes, with podium finishes in seven divisions.
The semi-state showing positions Lowell’s top finishers for the next stage of postseason competition as the Red Devils continue their strong tournament run.
