Lowell boys wrestling delivered a commanding team performance at the IHSAA Boys Wrestling Regional at Crown Point, totaling 153 team points in the Class A1 field.
The regional tournament took place Feb. 7 at Crown Point High School, where Lowell competed against one of the deepest postseason lineups in the state.
Evan Stanley led the Red Devils with a dominant regional championship at 138 pounds. Stanley went 3-0 on the day, earning three first-period falls to secure first place and 24 team points. His run included pins in the quarterfinals, semifinals, and championship bout, highlighting an efficient and decisive postseason performance.
Lowell crowned two additional regional champions. Cayden Yuran claimed first place at 190 pounds, advancing through the bracket with a technical fall, a major decision, and a fall in the title match to earn 22.5 points. Kameron Hazelett secured the championship at 285 pounds, recording three victories by fall, including a forfeit win in the finals, to add 24 points.
The Red Devils also received strong podium finishes from Gavin Longoria (second at 106), Hunter Mallory (second at 132), Noel Verduzco (third at 126), Charles Shaffer (third at 157), Tyler Quarles (fourth at 113), Logan Schwarzkopf (fourth at 150), and Tymothy James (fourth at 175).
Lowell’s depth and consistency across the lineup resulted in multiple finalists and champions, cementing a dominant showing at the Crown Point Regional.
